She Wouldn’t Let Me Go

I left today for Boston. We spent the night in a Quality Inn in Indy, got up and ate some breakfast and I left on the shuttle for the airport leaving my family behind. Before I loaded up to go my wife had us get in a circle to pray. I don’t think the kids knew exactly how to pray for daddy leaving so I began to pray as we all huddled together. After the “amen” I gave kisses to my daughter, my wife and each of the boys and when I finished my daughter was still hanging on to me. I tried to walk away but she hung on. She wouldn’t let me go. I think I missed something because I just patted her on the back in “I gotta go now” fashion and turned away and left. But the hug went with me. I’ve thought about it a lot. My Allie knows how to make big impressions on her daddy. And it is just one more thing that makes me want to hurry home and be with my family again. This is a goodness that comes from God. 🙂

About thekessler6

WE ARE A FAMILY OF SIX --SINCE 2009. ALTHOUGH OUR KIDS ARE ALL HOOSIER-BORN (all IN THE SAME HOSPITAL BY THE SAME WONDERFUL DOCTOR TOO!); Melissa and I ARE NATIVE BUCKEYES (A SWEET AND DELICIOUS TREAT!). WE COUNT OURSELVES MISSIONARIES TO THE HOOSIER NATIVES. AS FUNNY AS THAT SOUNDS WE HAVE YET TO MAKE ANY CONVERTS . . . TOO MANY PEOPLE SEEM TO BE FROM KENTUCKY AND MICHIGAN! KENT HAS BEEN A SPIRITUAL LEADER since 1987 AND MELISSA IS AN ELEMENTARY MUSIC TEACHER. THEY MET AND FELL IN LOVE IN GREENWOOD, INDIANA AND BEGAN MINISTRY TOGETHER IN MARION in 1996. FUNNY THING: MELISSA LIVES JUST ON THE OTHER SIDE OF MARION, OHIO!
