“Jesus is just SO awesome! Let’s get a closer look!”

We’ve started reading the Bible at breakfast each morning per my children’s request. We were reading Luke 5 where Jesus tells the disciples to cast their nets and when they did so they caught a boat load of fish!

I gave suggestions as to how this could have happened. Did Jesus command the fish to be there at just the right time and place? Did he have something the fish liked there to attract them to the exact spot at just the right time?

“Or”, as my soon to be 11 year old daughter suggested, “maybe the fish thought this Jesus guy was so awesome they just swam up to the boat to get a closer look at him! And that’s when they cast the nets.”

–Theologically sound. Perhaps this is the missing insight needed to express what evangelism truly is.
